Are you interested in the creative commercial side of the fashion industry and eager to launch your career in Buying? Whistles are looking for a Buying Intern to join our team on a 6-month paid internship, working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our office. This role is starting in July 2025.
At Whistles, our Buying team are at the heart of our brand, curating our distinctive yet refined seasonal collections. The Buying team identify emerging trends, negotiate with suppliers and ensure our customers have access to the most desirable and timeless pieces that build a long-lasting wardrobe.
What You'll Do:
As the Buying Intern, you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience with our knowledgeable buying team. This role will enable you to develop skills in commercial thinking, collaboration and confident presentation of your insights.
As the Buying Intern, you’ll be hands-on with:
- Assisting with competitor analysis, identifying emerging trends, and supporting the team in market research.
- Organising, tracking, and managing samples for our seasonal collections.
- Assisting the team in liaising with our suppliers, following up on orders, and managing accompanying documentation.
- Accurately inputting product information, sales figures, and other data that aid commercial decisions.
- Preparing materials and presentations for product reviews, selection meetings, and supplier discussions.
- Providing general administrative assistance to ensure the smooth running of the Buying department.
This internship will provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of the buying function within a fashion retail brand, helping you to develop crucial skills in trend analysis, supplier relations, data management, and commercial awareness.
Who You'll Be:
We’re looking for a Buying Intern with a genuine desire to learn and grow in this space. This internship opportunity would suit a student available to undertake a 6-month paid internship in 2025/2026, starting in July 2025. You’ll be able to commit to a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday working in the office each week.
We're looking for someone organised and proactive, who is keen to manage various tasks to assist the buying team. As an eager learner working towards a career in buying, you'll be keen to develop your knowledge of how a collection is built, gain commercial awareness, and absorb knowledge from our experienced team. Finally, you'll enjoy working as part of a team and presenting your thoughts and ideas.
