About The Role

Are you a commercially minded and analytical merchandiser looking for that next step in their career? At Hobbs we are looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join us on a 12 month contract, starting ASAP.

As the Junior Merchandiser, you'll play a vital role in driving the performance of the knitwear and jersey department. You'll be involved in achieving seasonal targets across sales, profit, margin and stock. With a strong grasp of commercial metrics, you'll positively discover opportunities on the knitwear and jersey department and propose solutions to shape future trading and planning.

What you’ll do:

  • Truly own the knitwear and jersey department's journey, with guidance from the Merchandising Manager, driving its financial success.
  • Carefully manage our department WSSI(s), ensuring we hit our sales targets while being smart about markdowns and stock levels, proactively flagging any areas where we can improve or benefit from on successes.
  • Get involved right from the start, initiating and managing our new season Category Plans and building block strategies for each product type.
  • Help shape how we price our products and plan our attributes, ensuring our ranges are commercially strong.
  • Bring your fresh ideas and commercial thinking to the table, actively contributing to how we can constantly improve the department's performance.

Who you’ll be:

As a Junior Merchandiser, you'll be someone who keeps a close eye on our competitors, using the insights you gather to help shape our pricing strategies. You'll play a crucial role in our end-of-season decision-making, proposing markdowns that strategically balance our margin and stock targets. Your contributions will be vital to our future success, you'll also be encouraged to be curious and proactive, taking the lead to carry out ad hoc analysis as needed.
