About The Role

We are looking for a talented Design Assistant to join the Hobbs Design team. This opportunity will see you focus on our Ready To Wear, Outerwear and Tailoring and Knitwear collections and be actively contribute to various aspects of the design process.

The design team create the mood, colour palette, prints and key shapes of the collection each season and we are seeking a Design Assistant with strong hand drawing skills to ensure the balance of commerciality and fashion is met.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Design Assistance: Assist the Designers in the smooth running of the design process from initial concept to final product
  • Trend and Market Research: Undertake thorough research on industry fashion trends, competitor brands, colour palettes and seasonal runway shows to inform design decision making
  • CAD and Technical Drawings: Maintain up-to-date CAD line-ups and range plan boards, and create detailed specifications for designs as briefed by the designer. Support the preparation of design packs for manufacturers and contribute to the development of embroidery artworks.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle numerous administrative tasks to maintain the efficiency of the Ready To Wear, Outerwear and Tailoring and Knitwear departments

About You

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable in-house design experience in a womenswear brand. The ideal applicant will have excellent hand drawing skills and be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) and possess strong organisational and time management skills. A keen eye for detail and a collaborative approach are required in this role.
